EMT Courses
EMT skills verification courses are offered to support EMT recertification. Participants review and demonstrate competency in the 10 mandatory Los Angeles County EMT skills, with instructor guidance and sign-off. A combined EMT and AHA BLS Skills Verification option is also available for participants who need both.

Course Content
EMT Skills Verification is designed for EMTs completing their required skills competency verification for recertification.
The skills you will complete:
- epinephrine & naloxone administration
- penetrating chest injury
- spinal motion restriction
- hemorrhage control & shock management
- trauma assessment
- oxygen administration
- cardiac arrest management & aed
- childbirth & neonatal resuscitation
- medical assessment
- bag valve mask
This session includes a review and sign-off of all 10 mandatory Los Angeles County EMT skills. Participants should arrive prepared to demonstrate competency in each required skill.
Course Includes:
- Review of the 10 required EMT skills
- Skills competency verification/sign-off
- Instructor guidance and feedback
Duration: Approximately 3 hours
Important: A current AHA BLS Provider certification is required for EMT recertification. If your BLS certification expires within 3 months after your EMT recertification, you should register for the EMT and AHA BLS Skills Verification course instead.
