Thomas is a retired LAFD Fire Captain and Paramedic having over 30 years of service with the LAFD. In addition to his past career with the LAFD, Thomas created Superior Life Support (SLS) in 2004 and has been designated by the American Heart Association (AHA) as being in the top 1% of all AHA Training Centers in the United States.

Doctor Tilles graduated from the University of US Davis with a Bachelor of Science all the while working as a firefighter. He then attended the George Washington University, School of Medicine on an Air Force Scholarship and went on to work for the Air force for several years. He is currently an American Heart Association instructor in all disciplines and the medical director of multiple locations including Burbank Airport Fire Department.
